Liverpool USA pre-season tour confirmed as Arne Slot's side to play Wrexham

Liverpool has confirmed its pre-season plan for the summer, when the Reds will take on Sunderland, Leeds and Wrexham in the United States, a couple of weeks after the World Cup

Liverpool is set to return to the United States this summer as part of its preparations for the 2026/27 season, with the country also a joint-host for the World Cup alongside Mexico and Canada.

Arne Slot's side is set to play against Sunderland, Leeds and Wrexham while it is Stateside. Liverpool will visit the U.S. a couple of weeks after the World Cup final is held at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

The Reds will visit Nashville, New York and Chicago. Their first game, against Sunderland, will be at Nashville’s GEODIS Park on July 25. They will then travel to New York's Yankee Stadium to face Wrexham on July 29.

The third and final stop will be in Chicago, where Slot's men will take on Leeds at Soldier Field on August 2.

Wrexham, the club owned by Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, is a big hit in the U.S. thanks to its documentary series, which has brought a new fan base to the Welsh side.

It is currently sixth in the Championship and could be promoted to the Premier League this season, most likely via the playoffs. It is nine points off the automatic promotion places.

Previously, Wrexham has been in the U.S. in the summers of 2023 and 2024, where it played Manchester United and Chelsea.

The matches will be played at stadia that are not being used for the World Cup, even though some of the locations overlap with host cities for the tournament.

The new Premier League season kicks off on the weekend of August 22 and 23. The Community Shield will be at Wembley the weekend before.

It is believed that there are more than 26 million Liverpool supporters who live in the U.S. The Reds were the most-watched Premier League club in the country last season.

The U.S. is also Liverpool's number one international retail market. It contains 62 official Liverpool supporters clubs across 32 states.

Liverpool has a number of American-based sponsors, including Google Pixel, Peloton and UPS and was last in the country in 2024, when more than 190,000 fans watched it play in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia and South Carolina.

While on pre-season tour, LFC Foundation, the club’s official charity, will take part in a range of local community activities, alongside a number of events involving club legends, including official club ambassadors Sir Kenny Dalglish and Ian Rush.

Tickets will be available from March 10 and supporters will receive an email with more details beforehand.
