Liverpool vs. Real Madrid is a fixture that needs no introduction.

One of the most storied and glamorous encounters in Champions League history, Tuesday’s meeting at Anfield sees the clash between clubs that can boast a combined 21 European crowns.

There’s bad blood between the sides in recent years as well, with the clubs locking horns in four of the last five seasons. While Real has tended to have the better of Liverpool, it was the Reds who won last year’s encounter, a night made almost as famous by a Conor Bradley sliding tackle as much as for securing an important three points in the Champions League.

With Xabi Alonso and Trent Alexander-Arnold returning to Anfield this time around, this fixture has been dialled up a notch.

The latter has spoken in great detail ahead of Tuesday’s game, in an interview with Amazon Prime.

Meanwhile, on Monday, Liverpool will host open training at its AXA Training Centre complex, before Arne Slot and a yet unconfirmed player speak to the media.

Then it’s Real’s turn, with Alonso hosting a press conference alongside a Real player, but Los Blancos have opted against training on the Anfield pitch, as is customary for visiting sides.
