Liverpool returns to Premier League action on Saturday as it hosts Wolverhampton Wanderers in the final game of 2025.
The Premier League champions are understrength for the encounter at Anfield, with up to eight players missing for Arne Slot’s side. That includes the suspended Dominik Szoboszlai and the injured Alexander Isak, while Mohamed Salah remains at the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).
As for Wolves, it could also be without eight players, as the injured Toti Gomes added to their growing list of absences.
The Midlands club traveled to Merseyside on Friday and laid commemorations at the Diogo Jota memorial outside the stadium ahead of the first meeting between the players’ former clubs since his tragic passing in July.
Jota’s children will also be mascots for the game, while Virgil van Dijk and Jurgen Klopp have paid tribute to the Reds' external no.20 in the last few days.
It looks set to be an emotional occasion at Anfield as Liverpool brings a year of extreme highs and lows to a close.
