Liverpool is set to be without six players for Saturday’s Premier League encounter against Brighton, with fitness issues surrounding two more members of Arne Slot’s squad.
The Reds head to the south coast looking to build on their emphatic 4-0 victory over Galatasaray in midweek, and improve their Premier League outlook as the race for the Champions League places intensifies.
But Liverpool will have to manage without Mohamed Salah following the muscular injury he sustained on Wednesday at Anfield. He scored the final goal in the one-sided Champions League tie and then indicated to the bench that he needed to be replaced.

“The good thing for Liverpool and for us is that we go to an international break,” said the Dutchman during his pre-match press conference. “The bad thing for Egypt is that he can't go there.
“We are hoping also with what Mo has shown in the past that he can recover faster than other players might in similar situations because he takes such good care of his body. History has shown that he can be earlier back than some others.

“But it's only two weeks when we go again so let's hope in that period of time he can be back.”
Salah joins a first-team injury list that includes Conor Bradley, Giovanni Leoni, Wataru Endo, and Alexander Isak, although the latter is running on grass again and targeting a return after the international break. On the eve of the Brighton clash, Liverpool.com learned that Alisson would be absent from the squad as well after the goalkeeper was ruled out for Brazil's friendlies against France and Croatia during the upcoming international break. Youngsters Stefan Bajcetic and Jayden Danns also remain absent through injury.
Meanwhile, Slot revealed he is still monitoring the minutes of Joe Gomez and Jeremie Frimpong. The former missed the Galatasaray win due to a knock, while Frimpong has played in the last six games after recovering from a groin strain last month.

“Joe was on the bench [on Wednesday] but he wasn't able to come in. We tried to postpone it as far as we could.
“He already told me before the start of the game he didn't feel good. I said, 'OK, let's wait to half-time [and] a miracle can happen – we might need you in extra-time.’ He might be available tomorrow but definitely not to start.”
Slot is wary of the short turnaround from the Galatasaray to the Brighton game, and referenced this in relation to Frimpong’s fitness.
“Jeremie Frimpong, for example, is such an explosive player, made so many sprints and so many times this season, unfortunately, when games came fast he got injured," said Slot.
“Now Joe being out, so you can already understand which questions we have to answer.”
