Loftus-Cheek states Milan are ‘ready to give everything’: “Allegri believes in us”

Tonight, AC Milan will get their Serie A season underway, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek has spoken ahead of kick-off at San Siro.

There are a few players that need to have big seasons for Milan, and Loftus-Cheek is one of those. Last season, the Englishman fell victim to season-defining injuries, and this has mellowed his career in Rossoneri so far.

Of course, his quality is known, his first season proved as much. However, there is a big difference between a good player and a player who is good on occasion. For the Englishman, it needs to be a case of the latter.

Loftus-Cheek’s words

This summer, there have been bright sparks shown from the former Chelsea man, which need to continue, and he spoke to DAZN pre-Cremonese to discuss his condition and Massimiliano Allegri’s encouragement, as MilanNews relays.

How are you, Ruben?

“I’m fine, I feel good. I feel very fresh after last season. We’re ready to give everything, 100%. We’re working really hard. We’re ready to fight for the three points.”

Allegri said he wants 15 goals between you and Fofana

“He believes so much in us. Fofana and I want to score this season, I think we can do it. We have to believe. I’ll try.”

Before he arrived, Loftus-Cheek was one of the big players that many thought Allegri would like. So, to hear these words of belief is nice.

The Englishman also spoke to MilanTV, as also relayed by MilanNews.

How are you feeling about this new start to the season?
“We feel good. We’re all ready for this season. Tonight’s a tough match, because it’s the start of a new season, but we feel good. So we’re ready for tonight.”

You’ve worked hard during the preseason to be ready for this start of the season.
“We’re working hard, tactically, physically, but I think mentally is more important. New season, at San Siro. Mentally, it’s important to start well tonight, we’re ready.”

Are you ready to get back into scoring form?
“We have to try. He [Allegri] thinks so. I’ll try. Two seasons ago I scored 10 goals, so I can.”
