AC Milan legend Franco Baresi has posted a message on social media as he continues to recover from an operation on his lung.
Back in August, the following statement was posted on the club’s website: “AC Milan announces that, following routine medical checks, our Honorary Vice President Franco Baresi was found to have a pulmonary nodule.
“It was decided that the best course of action was to remove it with a minimally invasive surgical procedure. The operation went well, and his recovery has been free of complications. Franco has since been assessed by an oncology specialist, who recommended a consolidative course of immunotherapy.”
The former centre-back is now undergoing immunotherapy as his recovery continues, and he posted a simple yet impactful message on his Instagram yesterday with a post that said: “Long live life.”
Many influential figures have expressed their support for Baresi in recent months, and more came yesterday. Among the messages is one from Paolo Maldini who replied: “Grande Franco.” Daniele Massaro said: “6xsempre mio Capitano.”
Filippo Galli wrote: “CAPITANO.” Even the legendary Inter captain had a message for his former rival, stating: “Forza Franco.”
