AC Milan are on the lookout for potential opportunities to strengthen their attack, and Robert Lewandowski’s name has been mentioned again.
Milan have a big problem in their attacking department, as Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku – the two most recent signings for that area of the field – are so far not even close to repaying the over €70m combined that they cost. Both have zero goals in Serie A so far this season.
Lewandowski links re-emerge
According to Sportitalia’s Gianluigi Longari, Lewandowski has ‘strongly emerged’ as a candidate for the No.9 role at Milan. His contract with Barcelona expires at the end of season, and he would bring ‘experience and personality’ to a dressing room that already has Luka Modric.
Signing the Poland international ‘seems unlikely’ in January, but because of Barcelona. The LaLiga giants would have to replace him but they do not have the financial resources to plan a major mid-season investment.

They’ll make a big signing in the summer for the centre-forward position, clearly planning for life without Lewandowski, but one in the winter is not budgeted for. The value from the sale of the 37-year-old would not be sufficient to cover the cost of a potential replacement.
Agent Rafaela Pimenta is on the lookout for a solution for Santiago Gimenez, who is struggling for form and is now injured. It is possible that she could assist Milan in this sense too, by bringing them a player to replace the Mexican who can perhaps guarantee a bigger output.
