Longo: Juve reject loan-with-option offer for Gatti from Milan – what happens now

Juventus have rejected a loan-with-option offer from AC Milan for Federico Gatti, according to a report, but the negotiations haven’t been completely abandoned just yet.

Milan are looking to bolster the defence with a centre-back next month and as has become clear in recent days, Massimiliano Allegri would like to reunite with Gatti. The 27-year-old currently plays for Juventus and since Luciano Spalletti’s arrival, he hasn’t been a clear starter.

Reports yesterday suggested that Milan were willing to include a player like Samuele Ricci in the negotiations, creating a swap deal, but it was quickly denied by Matteo Moretto. The journalists did, however, confirm the interest and another update has now arrived.

Offer rejected, but talks continue

According to Daniele Longo in his latest YouTube video, Milan have already been in touch with Juventus regarding the defender. In fact, they even tabled a loan with an option to buy, but this offer was immediately rejected.

The Bianconeri no longer consider Gatti as unsellable, but at the same time, they will only listen to interesting offers in January. Per Longo, the negotiations are still at a very early stage and could develop in the next few days, possibly with the inclusion of a Milan player.

Whether that will be Ricci as initially suggested or someone else remains to be seen. It should also be noted that Milan are evaluating other centre-backs too, so the Gatti interest could eventually be dropped if the conditions aren’t there for a deal.
