Luis Alberto is no stranger to AC Milan vs. Lazio, having featured in the game 20 times – the most in his career – and he spoke ahead of this weekend’s clash.
Looking ahead to Saturday, Milan are in a great position. They are flying in the league, sitting in second, whilst also getting most of the toughest games out of the way. Then, mentally, they are also soaring after getting a win over Inter last weekend.
It is a position that many will have dreamt of being in at the start of the season, and it could lead the Rossoneri to another dream.
Alberto on Milan…
The Scudetto is a feasible target at this stage, and they could overtake Roma if results go their way this weekend. However, the Giallorossi will be hoping that their fiercest rivals can help them this weekend, with three points at San Siro.
Alberto spoke to Gazzetta dello Sport about the game, the Diavolo’s chances of silverware and previous links to the club, via Calciomercato.com.
“Milan approached me in the 2018/2019 season, when I spoke with Maldini and Leonardo. But I’ve always known how things are in Italy, so it wasn’t easy to lure me away from Lazio.”
Tare’s impact…
“My first year at Lazio wasn’t easy; it was a tough six months. There was a moment when I wanted to quit and go home. I would have started playing with friends, maybe even worked as a waiter, which was my job growing up.

“Tare changed my mind. Maybe I’ll watch Milan-Lazio with him on Saturday night at San Siro. I’ve played there many times and had some great performances there.”
Can Milan win the Scudetto?
“Yes, winning the derby was a big step forward. Modric controls the ball, Fofana, Loftus-Cheek, and Rabiot are strong in midfield. And up front, Pulisic and Leao have a lot of quality. Without the cups, it will be easier, even though there are many teams in contention.”
