Luis Diaz had the ultimate mixed afternoon as he rescued a point for Bayern Munich before being sent off for the Bundesliga champions elect.
The former Liverpool star has enjoyed a fine season since completing his switch to Germany last summer, and he remains on course for another league title after helping the Reds to the Premier League crown in his final year at Anfield.
The Colombian scored in Bayern’s 1-1 draw at Bayer Leverkusen on Saturday, and while Borussia Dortmund did narrow the gap at the top to nine points with a 2-0 win over Augsburg, the reigning champions still look set to defend their title.

Bayern had already found themselves down to 10 men after Nicolas Jackson saw red for a late challenge on Martin Terrier, making their job even harder after Aleix Garcia’s opener for the hosts.
Diaz would find an equalizer in the 69th minute, but would be given his own marching orders six minutes from time after receiving a second yellow card, having been deemed to have dived under Janis Blaswich’s challenge.

Bayern managed to hold on to their point with nine men, despite Leverkusen having a goal ruled out in stoppage time when Jonas Hofmann was caught offside.
It’s not the first time Diaz has been involved in some chaos this season at Bayern. The 29-year-old suffered a similar fate when the German champions met Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League back in November.
On that occasion, Diaz had scored both goals to put Bayern 2-0 up against the defending European champions, only to then be sent off just before half-time, with his side managing to survive a second-half fightback to win 2-1.
Despite another red card, the Colombia international has settled in well at his new club, vindicating his decision to leave Liverpool last summer.

"It was a good decision — a decision for an incredible and fantastic team,” Diaz said on his exit from Anfield last month. “And when you arrive somewhere new, you naturally want to give your best and feel comfortable where you are.
"Being happy is the most important thing for a player and his family. It was exactly the right decision to come here. I knew that I would be joining an incredibly great group of footballers and a club with excellent infrastructure and a fantastic training ground.
"I had no doubt about that. The most difficult thing for me and my family was, and still is, certainly the language... but I knew that I would fit in very well here.”
