Romelu Lukaku has been linked to AC Milan several times. However, the biggest story with him and the club involved a spat with Zlatan Ibrahimovic.
Before heading to Napoli, there were years of reports suggesting that Milan could make a move for Lukaku. The Belgian striker who so often cursed them, had a history with Inter, maybe playing in the Rossoneri.
Of course, it never happened. Who knows what would have happened if it did. However, there could have been a reunion between him and Ibrahimovic, who he shared an interesting moment with in a Derby della Madonnina.
Respect but pointless
In the Coppa Italia, the two had a heated argument which even led to them squaring up to one another. Today, he was asked about the argument and its outcome by La Gazzetta dello Sport and his reply has been relayed by MilanNews.

At 32 and with the status of a top player, can you still improve?
“Of course, we have the tools to always do better. I have a gym at my house. Messi, Ronaldo, Lewandowski, Ibra are great, but my role model is Benzema, who won the Ballon d’Or after turning 32. We need to look forward with the right mentality. LeBron James says so too. Did I clear up the derby argument with Ibra? It’s pointless. But I have respect for his career: he was a unique player.”
It is probably for the better that a move never happened.
