Manchester City and PUMA have launched a limited edition kit to celebrate Lunar New Year. Ahead of the Year of the Fire Horse on February 17, the club has just dropped its Year of the Horse Capsule Collection.

Each piece is designed in earthy, neutral tones and inspired by ‘the stillness of vintage Chinese portraiture’. At the centre of the collection is the Man City Puma Year of the Horse Shirt (£85), a pre-match jersey featuring hand-drawn Fire Horse artwork that’s said to embody power, movement and relentless drive.

Fans can also pick up the Kids Man City Puma Year of the Horse Shirt (£65). Each version boasts an abstract design influenced by traditional Chinese ink and watercolour techniques, alongside a white and gold club crest, 3D PUMA logo and single horse design on the back neck.

The Year of the Horse collection is also on sale at the official Man City shop and PUMA, which also stock the Man City Pre-Match KING Anthem Jacket (£80). Set to be worn by the players during their walkouts before each match, the jacket features bold, vintage-inspired designs including a bespoke font that combine ‘retro vibes with a modern twist’.

Also available is the Man City x Year of the Horse Tee (£26), a dark grey t-shirt featuring hand-drawn Fire Horse artwork. The Year of the Horse Capsule Collection marks the latest instalment of Man City’s Lunar New Year drops, following its year of the Dragon and Rabbit ranges.

Unveiling the collection, Marco Mueller, Senior Director of Product Line Management Teamsport Apparel at PUMA, said: “The Year of the Horse Capsule Collection is about capturing energy, motion and heritage through design. The Fire Horse artwork represents power and momentum – qualities that define Manchester City both on and off the pitch.

“This collection allows us to celebrate cultural storytelling while continuing to push football aesthetics forward in a way that feels modern, meaningful, and authentic.”

City fans shared their first impressions of the Man City Puma Year of the Horse Shirt on social media, with some branding it ‘stunning’. Writing on X, one said: “The Year of the Horse kit looks fresh.”

Another commented: “Stunning kit. Galloping vibes for the win.”

Not everyone is sold, as this fan wrote: “Awful, PUMA kits are getting gradually worse each year.”

While this commenter simply added: “That shirt is slick.”
