Manchester City fan group 1894 want to hear what supporters have to say about their matchday experience at the Etihad
A Manchester City fan group wants to hear from supporters about the current matchday experience amid more changes set to come at the Etihad. The 1894 group have already had more than 2,000 responses to their anonymous survey and are looking for as many views as possible so that they can pass on their findings to the club.
There are questions on the price of tickets, the upcoming North Stand expansion that will have an impact on the atmosphere at the Etihad, and the many potential factors behind the empty seats that have been visible for recent home games with Galatasaray in the Champions League and Newcastle in the Carabao Cup. More than anything, it wants to see how connected fans feel to the club and what improvements can be made.
City showed they had listened to fans last season when they reversed the decision to increase season ticket prices for the 2025/26 season following protests at a number of matches, and then went further by reducing match ticket prices. However, other measures introduced - such as minimum attendance quotas with the threat of losing season tickets and reducing options for ticket transfers - and ongoing frustration around third party websites having tickets and selling them for inflated prices remain concerns for many.

There is uncertainty too over what the new North Stand will bring amid unhappiness from 500 fans behind the goal on the bottom tier who are being relocated to make way for a new hospitality section. While work on the extended upper tier is expected to be completed in the coming weeks, there are not many details about what the club would like the space to be.
The lower attendances against Galatasaray and Newcastle in recent weeks have put the Etihad back into the spotlight. The stadium has been filled nearly every time this season but when there are games with empty seats clearly visible it is worth everyone involved seriously considering why that is.
