Man City get Rodri and Ruben Dias injury updates for Burnley

Manchester City will be without a number of players for their Premier League game with Burnley on Wednesday

Pep Guardiola confirmed that Rodri will not be available to face Burnley on Wednesday. The midfielder has started each of City's last 11 league games but came off with a groin injury in the closing minutes of the 2-1 win over Arsenal.

Medical checks have since confirmed that while Rodri has not suffered a serious injury it is enough to rule him out of the next game and he could also miss the FA Cup semi-final with Southampton. As expected, Ruben Dias is also still sidelined alongside Josko Gvardiol.

"I think he will not be ready for tomorrow and we will see for the next games," Guardiola said of Rodri. "Maybe [he will be back for] the semi-final with Southampton or in 12 or 13 days against Everton."

Guardiola warned after Sunday's win that City would not be able to use the same XI for upcoming games given that they will have to play twice a week for most of the remaining campaign. They can go top of the league on Wednesday by beating Burnley and then play Southampton at Wembley for a chance to make another FA Cup final.

Arsenal will have spent 200 days on top of the table this season by the time City head to Turf Moor though, and Guardiola is clear that they are still setting the standards that the Blues have to reach with six league games left.

"That means how good they have been, how consistent they have been. A game to try to be on the same points as them," he said. "Both teams know that we cannot lose or drop points or it will be difficult to recover. Our calendar is so demanding."
