AC Milan secured an important 1-0 victory over Lecce thanks to Niclas Füllkrug’s goal in the final 20 minutes of the game.
It wasn’t a vintage performance from Milan, but they eventually managed to break down the away side after having large spells of pressure. Alexis Saelemaekers provided the assist for Füllkrug with an excellent cross from the byline, and it was the decisive moment of quality.
A big three points for Milan followed wins for Inter and Napoli, and now attention will quickly turn to Sunday’s away game against Roma, a real test of the Scudetto credentials. Below are the best stats, with some from the official website.
Dominance = deserved win
There was a lot of debate after the victory over Como last Thursday about the manner of the way Milan won. Cesc Fabregas even suggested that the result was unjust because of how many more passes his side completed, but Allegri stressed that winning is everything.
Last night, the script was flipped. Milan had almost 70% of the ball, created 2.61 Expected Goals and five big chances, had 20 total shots to Lecce’s three, and six on target to zero for the visitors. They also had 10 corners.
Unbeaten streak continues
Milan have gone unbeaten for 20 consecutive games in the same Serie A campaign (W13 D7) for the first time since the period between September 1992 and March 1993 (23 – W17 D6, under Fabio Capello).
Milan (W13, D7, L1) have suffered at most a single defeat in the first 21 matches of a Serie A season for only the third time since the three-points-for-a-win system was introduced in 1994/95, after the 1995/96 and 2003/04 seasons (one loss in each case).
The Rossoneri have gone ten consecutive home league matches unbeaten (W7, D3) for the first time since the period between November 2023 and April 2024, when they also went ten games without defeat at San Siro (W8, D2) under Stefano Pioli.

Decisive duo
Niclas Füllkrug has become only the third German player in Milan’s history to score in Serie A, following Bierhoff (36 league goals for the Rossoneri) and Ziege (4). Before today, the striker had not scored in a Top 5 European league since 5 April, when he netted for West Ham against Bournemouth in the Premier League.
Alexis Saelemaekers has provided three assists in the league this season. Only in 2020/21 (4), also when he was wearing Rossoneri colours, has the Belgian done better in a single Serie A campaign (he also recorded three assists in 2020/21, 2022/23 and 2024/25).
