The Mayor of Milan Giuseppe Sala has urged AC Milan and Inter to hurry up with their plans for the new stadium after the sale was approved.
In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a crucial moment occurred as the City Council voted to approve the sale of San Siro to Milan and Inter. Some appeals are to be expected, but the clubs are ready to begin a multi-year project to build a new home.
The Rossoneri and the Nerazzurri have even already picked the firms that will design the stadium: Foster & Partners and Manica. Both companies have extensive experience and knowledge when it comes to creating world-class facilities.
Sala was present at the inauguration of Milan Digital Week and he was intercepted by journalists, putting the pressure back onto the clubs to present their full stadium plans. MilanPress relayed his comments.
“We need to know when Milan and Inter will invite Norman Foster to begin explaining their project. I keep telling both clubs that they need to hurry,” he said.
“Foster’s agenda will certainly not be empty, and we also need to understand the project’s current status. Now we need to move from the administrative phase to the communication phase. The citizens need to see the quality the new stadium will have.”
