Mazzara: Milan intensify contacts with authorities to regain Curva Sud support

AC Milan are working with the authorities to reach a solution for its ultras, Curva Sud, so that organised support can return to San Siro as soon as possible.

The silence at San Siro has been deafening in recent weeks, as a result of the Curva Sud’s protests against the authorities and Milan. We wrote a bonus article on the matter a few weeks back, echoing what many others have said: ultras have to be allowed to be ultras.

It seems Milan have understood this as well, at least based on the latest reports from MilanNews’ Pietro Mazzara. Indeed, the Rossoneri have now intensified contacts with the authorities to find a solution for organised support.

Contacts underway

As, sadly, confirmed by Curva Sud’s statement yesterday, the situation has only worsened over the last few weeks. Milan’s contacts with the authorities are thus very important as their words weigh heavily, rather than it coming from the Ultras themselves.

The Rossoneri’s goal is to ‘regain organised and coordinated support’ during the games at San Siro, while also ‘respecting the rules and the community’. Some compromises will have to be made on both ends, and although it remains complex, there is some optimism.

As Mazzara concludes, every single individual at Milan – from the owners to the management and the players – wants the Curva Sud to return. They know just how important the Ultras are and in the top-four pursuit, they are needed.
