As you’d expect, interest has been present for the midfielder. Yet, his European aspirations have made it difficult to get anything past an idea for the Frenchman. At least until now.
Not the ideal situation
It seems that his preferences may be opening with the lack of interest from European clubs. So, instead, he may have to remain in Italy with a club hoping to rise. Right now, that brings two options, Sassuolo and Verona, according to Sportmediaset (via MilanPress).
Neither are probably going to be in a European picture anytime soon, which is referenced in the report. However, they are ‘respectable’ teams and could offer a platform for growth going forward. He has the chance to ‘show his true worth’ with a move, with the Diavolo closed to the idea of a rekindling.
