Massimiliano Allegri has asked AC Milan to try for Giorgio Scalvini and Igli Tare is readying a bid, according to a report.
According to Claudio Raimondi on SportMediaset (via MilanNews), Milan are going to try for Scalvini on the advice of Allegri who would really like the 21-year-old centre-back to add to the Italian core at the club.
The road to signing him however is an uphill battle because – even though he played little last season due to various injuries (only eight appearances in all competitions) – the Atalanta value him highly. The Rossoneri are reportedly ready to offer Malick Thiaw plus €15m.
There are no formal negotiations yet, but Scalvini is the new name for Milan’s defence. Napoli are also reportedly interested in the player, having offered €35m plus €5m in bonuses. Manna has already spoken with Percassi and has therefore put the Beukema option on hold.

Left-back target switches
There has been much talk in the last few hours about Archie Brown but the Gent full-back who has chosen to move to Fenerbahçe. Mediaset claim the English player was never really close to Milan, who only tried to get involved quite late on.
Two options remain for Theo Hernandez’s replacement, both from LaLiga: Sergi Cardona of Villarreal, and Miguel Gutierrez of Girona. With the team leaving for the preseason tour in one week, time is of the essence.
