Mike Maignan has made his demands to the AC Milan management in order to renew his contract, and he is asking for a big pay rise.
Milan are expected to make at least one more attempt to keep Maignan, even if it won’t be easy. The saves he has made recently on Marcus Thuram, Lautaro Martinez, Hakan Calhanoglu and Mario Gila make it difficult to stomach the idea that he might only be around for a few more months.
Maignan’s demands
According to SportMediaset, the renewal negotiations involving Maignan and Milan continue to be quite difficult. They claim that the Frenchman is asking for €8m net per season to stay, while the management are stuck at €5m and are unlikely to raise their offer further.
Maignan is liked by several clubs such as Inter, Juventus, Chelsea and PSG. He is heading towards a farewell at the end of the season unless there is a rather drastic change in stance, given the €3m per year gap between the parties.
Milan as a result are looking around for a new goalkeeper. Zion Suzuki from Parma and Elia Caprile from Cagliari are two profiles they are monitoring, but the name of Andriy Lunin from Real Madrid has also cropped up.
