It has been a very busy summer on the transfer front at Chelsea. Adding to Enzo Maresca's squad with a host of new players coming in through the door, the Blues have also parted with 11 players on a permanent basis to freshen things up for the Italian.
More transfers will be expected to take place before the window closes for business on Monday, September 1. Chelsea have also sanctioned a total of seven loan deals for the 2025/26 campaign so their players can play regular first-team football elsewhere in their quest to become Stamford Bridge regulars in the future.
Chelsea's loan army may well grow over the next 13 days as there are still some players at the club who require moves for the new season. So how exactly did the club's seven loan players - three of which are playing their football in France for Strasbourg - fare over the weekend? football.london takes a look below:
Caleb Wiley (Watford)
Caleb Wiley has yet to feature for Watford this season due to a back issue. The left-back has now returned to full training and is edging closer to a return but he wasn't involved in the squad for Saturday's 2-1 home win over QPR.
Wiley will have his fingers crossed that he can be involved in the matchday party on Saturday when the team travel to Swansea City for a 12:30pm kick-off.
Mike Penders, Kendry Paez, Mamadou Sarr (Strasbourg)
A number of Chelsea players will be playing their football for Strasbourg this season due to the link between the clubs. The Ligue 1 side started their season with a 1-0 win away at Metz on Sunday and a trio of Chelsea players did feature in the late victory.
Mike Penders started in goal and kept a clean sheet on his debut, with fellow Chelsea loanee Mamadou Sarr playing his part at the back for Liam Rosenior's team. Exciting teenager Kendry Paez started the game on the bench but was introduced for the final ten minutes of the contest.
In Get French Football News' player ratings, Penders, who didn't have a single save to make but recorded a 96 per cent pass completion rate and was accurate with three of his four long balls, received a score of five out of ten and Sarr was given six. Strasbourg host Brondby in the first leg of their Conference League play-off tie on Thursday night, before then playing Nantes on home soil on Sunday afternoon.

Marc Guiu (Sunderland)
Marc Guiu had a watching brief on Saturday as his new club Sunderland marked their return to the Premier League with a 3-0 win over West Ham. The Spaniard was not called from the bench by Regis Le Bris, who instead introduced fellow striker Wilson Isidor in the final 15 minutes and the Frenchman went on to complete the scoring with a well-taken goal.
Sunderland are on the road on Saturday as they travel to Burnley.
Teddy Sharman-Lowe (Bolton Wanderers)
Teddy Sharman-Lowe has featured regularly for Bolton Wanderers since joining the League One club on loan. The 22-year-old has so far made three appearances for the Trotters in the league, with the shot-stopper involved in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Barnsley.
Sharman-Lowe was given a mark of six out of ten by The Bolton News for his performance at Oakwell. They wrote: "He won’t be happy about being beaten from such a tight angle by McGoldrick. A couple of minor mis-steps but nothing major to complain about."
Bolton host Reading on Wednesday evening and then they take on Lincoln City at home on Saturday afternoon.
Leo Castledine (Huddersfield Town)
Leo Castledine has made his first two appearances for loan club Huddersfield Town over the past week. Getting minutes off the bench last Wednesday as he scored his penalty in the shootout win over Leicester City in the Carabao Cup following a 2-2 draw in normal time, he was again introduced in the second half as Huddersfield lost 3-2 at Blackpool on Saturday.
The Terries host Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday evening and they are at home once again on Saturday as League One leaders Stevenage make the trip to West Yorkshire.
