Mikel Arteta faced the media after Arsenal’s 4-0 win over Atletico Madrid. A big win and a third straight victory in the competition to keep the perfect run going.
Arsenal had plenty of chances to score in the first half as Eberechi Eze hit the bar, Declan Rice struck just over and Gabriel Martinelli saw a goal ruled out for offside when he really should have been holding his run better.
Gabriel would provide the goal to send the Emirates into an eruption of noise, heading in Declan Rice’s free-kick. Martinelli then doubled the lead with a gorgeous finish following excellent work from Myles Lewis-Skelly.
Then it was the Viktor Gyokeres show, poaching two goals around the six-yard box. This could be a massive moment for the Swede and Arteta was to be targeted with questions on that very subject.
