Milan Futuro 1-1 Brusaporto: Rossoneri avoid late turnaround thanks to Torriani save

1 week ago 29

Milan Futuro looked like they were heading for three points in their game against Brusaporto on Sunday afternoon. However, with just a few minutes to go, they conceded a penalty.

The start of the season has been filled with ups and downs for Massimo Oddo and his side, certainly not dominating their Serie D division. That said, after the win last time out, there was optimism that they would be able to grab another one against the rival Brusaporto.

After a wobbly start, with Lorenzo Torriani called into action a few times, Milan managed to open the scoresheet through Diego Sia. Mattia Cappelletti made the run down the right-hand side and spotted the forward in the box, as you can see in the video below.

Just three minutes later, Matteo Dutu came close to doubling the lead for the Rossoneri, but the goalkeeper was equal to the shot. For the rest of the first half, they continued to create some half-chances but failed to find the back of the net.

In the second half, Milan initially pushed for a second goal but then started to defend their lead more and more as the game went on. It looked like they were heading for three points but then, in the 85th minute, the substitute Berkay Karaca committed a foul inside the box.

Giorgio Siani stepped up and managed to beat Torriani in goal, making it 1-1. In the second minute of stoppage time, Brusaporto nearly scored a winner as well but Torriani made a great save, keeping out the header in question.

Considering that they were so close to a win, it’s a disappointing result for the Futuro, even if they could have lost more than just two points at the end.
