Milan-linked Lille star admits to idolising Modric after match that ‘changed everything’

There have been a lot of links between European clubs and Ayyoub Bouaddi in recent months, but AC Milan have been interested for almost two years now.

When Paulo Fonseca arrived, there were several suggestions that Milan could raid his former club. However, nothing really happened. Yet, the links remained constant, with Tiago Santos one of the most interesting names.

Alongside the right-back was Bouaddi, who has since captured the attention of most of Europe. The young midfielder is on the radars of most clubs, and Milan remain in the mix for the 18-year-old, even if he may be slightly out of reach now.

Perhaps the Rossoneri will have an ace to play, though. This week, the midfielder spoke to L’Equipe and he was asked about his heroes and his reply could help, as MilanPress relays his comments.

“It was incredible, magnificent. That match changed everything. Real Madrid at home in the Champions League, on my birthday, the final victory, all the elements came together to make that magical moment. I almost had to pinch myself to believe it. I didn’t really realise what was happening.

“Iniesta and Modric have always been my go-to players, and Modric came on… But at the end of the match, I was so distracted that, frankly, I didn’t even pay attention to him. I didn’t even pick up my shirt, nothing. I was in a dream, I had no control anymore.”

If Luka Modric were to endorse a move to the Diavolo, perhaps it could sweeten the deal. However, whether it would be enough is something which would need to be seen.
