Milan Primavera clinched a massive win against third-placed Cesena on Saturday afternoon, finding the back of the net seven (!) times to improve their goal difference.

Milan started the game really well and had several chances to take the lead early on. They didn’t have to wait long for the opener, though, as Simone Lontani found the back of the net in the 18th minute after great work by the star Filippo Scotti.

Less than ten minutes later, Milan struck again as Lontani scored with a nice header, making the most of an even better Nirash Perera cross. Less than half an hour into the game, as such, the Rossoneri had very good control of the game.

With two minutes left of the first half, Lorenzo Ossola managed to beat the goalkeeper with a calm finish. Filippo Plazzotta got the assist with a very nice pass to but Ossola through on goal. Sadly, in the final minute of the first half, Cesena pulled one back to make it 3-1.

In the second half, it was much of the same as Milan continued to apply pressure while creating chances. Cesena weren’t completely dead in the water, though, forcing a great save from Alessandro Longoni in the 68th minute.

In the 83rd minute, Milan killed the game through Lontani, who thus managed to get his hat-trick. Once again, it was great work from Scotti to set up his teammates and while the first shot hit the post, he made no mistakes with the rebound.

🙌 A hat-trick for Lontani and 4-1 to Milan Primavera!

Milan easily could have seen the final minutes out but instead, they made it five goals through Tommaso Mancioppi in the 87th minute. One minute later, Cesena pulled one back, only for the Rossoneri to make it six goals the following minute, certainly improving their goal difference.

Was that it? No. In the dying seconds, more specifically the 97th minute, Alex Castiello scored the seventh goal of the game. As a result, Milan have climbed to seventh place in the league (fittingly) and are not far from the top.

🔥 Castiello with the goal and it ends 7-2 for the Primavera! What a win!
