AC Milan have amassed 25 points from their opening 12 games of the season, but the feeling is that there is still room for improvement.
As MilanNews report, Milan are averaging just over two points per game, which should be enough to achieve the aim that Massimiliano Allegri constantly reiterates: to finish in the top four, and return to the Champions League.
Yet, with the best players back from injury (though Christian Pulisic may miss the Lazio game), no European football to contend with and a more favourable schedule in the coming weeks, momentum could really build.
Help on the way?
Of course, a helping hand from the January transfer window would be greatly appreciated, in addition to consistent performance and results on the pitch, which goes without saying.
There is no need to overhaul the starting line-up as happened in the most recent winter window – and things didn’t go so well after – but it is advisable to give Allegri a few more alternatives, especially seeing what a few injuries has already done to depth.

Milan particularly need to add another central defender to their squad. Koni De Winter is a good option, but David Odogu could be loaned out. Might a reunion with Thiago Silva be possible? The temptation could be there.
It would also be important to find a reliable replacement for Alexis Saelemaekers on the right, given that Zachary Athekame has proven far too inexperienced to fill the position reliably. Then there is the striker issue, one that seems to be never-ending for Milan.
With a few more options Allegri will be able to rotate more effectively and and injuries – barring another wave of them – would not deplete the depth. This way the levels of effort and attention can stay at the maximum, so dropped points against lesser sides might not be so frequent.
