MN: Agent played intermediary role in lightning €40m sale and €20m signing for Milan

Two defensive moves have been made over the weekend by AC Milan, but it may not have been possible without an intermediary.

The sale of Malick Thiaw kicked Milan into action at the back. All summer, it has been a case of one out, one in. So, with the German leaving, it allowed the Rossoneri to head into the market and look for a new idea.

As we know, this was Koni De Winter, who is due to be announced today (Tuesday). It is a move which the club have benefited from substantially, given the profit they made on Thiaw covered the purchase (and more) of the Belgian defender.

Riso’s impact

Today, MilanNews have looked at how the deal was made possible, and it had a big assist from Beppe Riso. Relations with the agent are strong anyway, but this summer, the two have worked closely together.

In fact, it is key to remember that one of Igli Tare’s first meetings was with the agent, which has clearly established a layer of trust between the parties.

Today’s report, though, states that he actually brokered the deals for Thiaw and De Winter. In both situations, Riso acted as a middleman to get agreements on everything. A huge help, clearly.
