Ruben Loftus-Cheek became a bit of a forgotten name last season, but Massimiliano Allegri hopes to lead his resurgence.
As MilanNews recall, on various occasions when Milan’s management have met with journalists, there has always been an opportunity to discuss Loftus-Cheek, the English midfielder who was virtually sidelined by injuries last year.
Tare mentioned him, suggesting he could replace Reijnders: “Loftus-Cheek is one of the most complete midfielders in Europe. He could be a key player for AC Milan next season.” Allegri called him “a very important player who scored 12 goals two years ago.”
These words and expressions of admiration, but also and above all, should instil confidence in a player who was severely demoralised by physical problems last year. If he were to regain his full strength, Allegri knows he could still make a difference.
As previously mentioned and as confirmed by the quotes from Tare and Allegri, the RLC mission has officially begun. To revitalise a player who struggled as much as the Chelsea man did last season, a very powerful burst of energy is needed, and who better than Max Allegri?
The new head coach is already shown in his first two weeks of work at Milanello that he wishes to work on RLC, who is heavily involved in tactical exercises and is repeatedly spoken to by both Allegri and various members of his staff.
The feeling is that if Loftus-Cheek can be mentally recovered and his physical condition preserved, Milan will be able to gain a new addition to the midfield.
