MN: Allegri experiences roller coaster in first 100 days since returning to Milan

It’s been 100 days since Max Allegri was appointed as the new head coach of AC Milan, and although we are just two games into the season, it’s been a hectic period.

Milan announced Allegri’s arrival very early, more specifically on May 30, and there was thus a lot of optimism that great work could be done during the summer. While the verdict is still out on the mercato, the early arrival meant Allegri got a lot of time to establish his foundations at Milanello.

Furthermore, even though only two rounds of Serie A have been played, Allegri has already been at the club for 100 days. As highlighted by MilanNews this morning, it has certainly been more intense than the manager expected. You could even describe it as a roller coaster.

This mainly has to do with the mercato, of course, but the defeat in the opening game against Cremonese certainly didn’t help. If anything, it highlighted that Milan still have a very long way to go despite what was a positive pre-season.

The next game is scheduled for next week, as Bologna will make the trip to San Siro, and a win is needed to build some momentum. Even if the Scudetto isn’t exactly the target for the season, making the top four is far from easy and will require a lot from Allegri and his players.
