Davide Bartesaghi is AC Milan’s starting left-back; there is no doubt about that and it seems difficult to imagine a situation where he is replaced.

In the summer, it seemed like Bartesaghi would be an option for Massimiliano Allegri. Perhaps he could be a little more, but very few probably expected him to be the starting choice. Yet, here we are and Milan would not have it any other way as it stands.

Thanks to Allegri’s faith in the summer, the Rossoneri now have a new ‘star’, with reports suggesting that the left-back has been bestowed with that title after his season so far. As a result, he will be given a massive upgrade on his deal to fend off Premier League interest.

In fact, the next place to focus on is the Azzurri, where another son of Milano is in charge. It seems that the defender is well in the sights of Gennaro Gattuso, too, with the head coach considering new names for his March call-ups.
