Cheveyo Balentien has had a very positive start to life at AC Milan, training mostly with the first team after getting the stamp of approval from Max Allegri.
At the end of August, more specifically on the 21st, Milan announced the signing of Balentien from ADO Den Haag for the Futuro side. However, Allegri instantly took a liking to the 18-year-old, even giving him a chance off the bench against Lecce last time out.
“The starting XI? Between today and tomorrow morning, I have to evaluate the situation of those who have returned from international duty. With Nkunku only partially fit and Leao out, we have Balentien, who came on against Lecce with a good attitude, quite savvy,” Allegri said during his presser today.
More minutes on the cards?
As highlighted by MilanNews, Balentien has barely trained with the Futuro in recent weeks as Allegri has called him up for the first team. Indeed, the Rossoneri believe in his potential and Allegri’s assistant, Bernardo Corradi, has taken the player under his wings.

Balentien remains a very young player so Milan will have to proceed with caution, but Allegri’s words suggest he hasn’t made his last appearance for the first team this season. And if he continues as he has done in training, who knows, he might even get a starting spot.
