MN: Deal with Como at risk as Galatasaray hang on to Morata – the latest

Alvaro Morata’s move to Como seems to be getting increasingly complicated, and it is because of Galatasaray’s stance.

According to MilanNews, Galatasaray do not appear to be willing to terminate Morata’s loan which expires in January 2026 and that is what is blocking things at the moment. The loan would need to be ended six months early to free a permanent switch to Como.

The situation appears to be unrelated to Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker the Istanbul club is trying to sign from Napoli. It remains to be seen whether a breakthrough will come later, but Galatasaray’s plan is to keep Morata, who is instead pushing for a departure.

Como’s sporting director, Carlarberto Ludi, gave an interview to La Gazzetta dello Sport this morning in which he declined to discuss Morata. He said: “I’m not talking about players from other clubs; a lot has already been said on the subject.”

It would certainly be another blow for the club by the laker, after widespread reports stated yesterday that Malick Thiaw has rejected them. A €25m transfer free had been agreed with Milan and a €4m net per year deal was offered to the German, but he is holding out for clubs in European competitions.
