AC Milan were back at the training ground this afternoon, following a short Christmas vacation, and a new face joined the group for the session.
Given that Milan trained on December 23rd, they only got a very short break for Christmas celebrations this year. With the next game scheduled for Sunday, more specifically Hellas Verona at home, Massimiliano Allegri and his men needed to get back to work today.
According to MilanNews, Milan received the authorisation from West Ham to include Niclas Füllkrug in the training session, even though they haven’t officially announced him yet. It will be done when the January window opens, and he will be able to make his debut against Cagliari next week.
As for those who have struggled with some injuries lately, Rafael Leao trained with the group and will thus be available for the game on Sunday. Matteo Gabbia, on the other hand, is still feeling knee bad and will most likely miss out.
Allegri will have to turn to Koni De Winter once again at the back, and given the disastrous display against Napoli, fans are right to have some concerns. That said, there’s a bit of a quality difference between Napoli and Verona.
