Despite reports suggesting that he was set for a few weeks out, it seems that Niclas Füllkrug will not even miss a single game for AC Milan.
It emerged after Sunday’s 1-1 draw against Fiorentina that Füllkrug had suffered a broken toe in the contest, one that he started and played well in. He should have had multiple assists for Christian Pulisic, but instead left with nothing but an injury that some sources said would keep him out for one month.
According to MilanNews, Füllkrug has in fact been named in Massimiliano Allegri’s squad for tonight’s match away against Como. This morning’s final training session at Milanello gave the German striker a positive feeling, after having trained yesterday too.
The German striker, who arrived on loan from West Ham late in December (although officially announced on January 2), will start the game on the bench. The attacking pair from minute one will be Rafael Leao and Christopher Nkunku, but Füllkrug will be able to lend a hand off the bench.
Pietro Terracciano – the deputy goalkeeper who missed Sunday’s trip to Florence due to a fever – is also back. He and Lorenzo Torriani will be on the bench as alternatives to Mike Maignan.
