With AC Milan needing a defender, several old targets are coming back to the front of conversations. However, the deals must be right.
The hunt for a central defender is a difficult one. Ultimately, it seems that Milan wants to get a deal done on their terms, and they are not really very forgiving. As it goes, the Rossoneri are seeking a low-cost reinforcement.
Axel Disasi’s name is very popular, due to the chance of him arriving on a ‘free loan’, which is the main appeal, it seems. However, he may not be the only option for the Diavolo.
Gomez returns
As MilanNews write this morning, the name of Joe Gomez is rising once again, and whilst he would not be ‘low cost’ like RedBird wants, he would be a longer-term option than a six-month loan. His valuation of €15 million is not a major expense, but it would potentially be more than the club may be willing to spend in January.

Nevertheless, with a lack of minutes this season, he could push for an Anfield exit this January. He has not made his stance clear yet, but if he wants to go to the World Cup, his minutes must increase. Then, the will of Arne Slot will also play a part. He blocked a sale in the summer, and he would probably do the same in January, it seems.
A lot of dominoes must fall, so Disasi may be the most feasible option.
