AC Milan Women are preparing to formally begin their 2025-26 Serie A season, and there is some debate about what to expect.
The first match for the Rossonere, who will be coached by Suzanne Bakker again, will be away to Genoa on October 5th. This season is a very important one, and it has already begun with a disappointing campaign in the Serie A Women’s Cup.
Investment
According to MilanNews, the Milan Women project has a very specific goal: the aim of the management, and in particular of Elisabet Spina, Head of Women’s Football, is to quickly become a top European club.
For this reason, Milan are investing heavily in this area, such as in the renovation of the PUMA House of Football to provide better facilities and an improve environment which should help the players perform at their best.
As for the squad, while previously it was a team composed primarily of experienced players, it now boasts a group of young players who want to win at Milan and begin a journey. A prime example is Giorgia Arrigoni, the best product from the Rossonere youth academy.

The club have managed to retain last season’s starting XI, despite offers from England and the United States for some of the players. The squad has some quality in it too, so the aim is to do better this season.
Speaking of which, as mentioned Bakker will be on the bench for the second consecutive season. Having arrived at Milan in the summer of 2024, in her debut campaign she led the team to fifth place in the standings.
The Rossonere had a strong performance in the Scudetto play-offs, marked by the growth of a young and emerging group. Her team will play with a 4-3-3 and the things she asks of her players are quite simple: competitiveness, confidence, enthusiasm and high intensity.
