AC Milan have been given a big boost this afternoon, with some news from Milanello suggesting that Rafael Leao may be back this weekend.
There has been a lot said about Leao this season, and more recently about his injuries. It is an unavoidable fact that the Portuguese has missed a number of games, and that has affected his season massively.
Nevertheless, he still remains one of the most prolific players in Serie A, and if he can return alongside Christian Pulisic, the hope will be that they continue in their fine form.
Updates from Milanello
This weekend, that may be possible, with MilanNews reporting that Leao has continued to be involved in group training this afternoon, meaning he has three days to prepare for Friday’s clash against Cagliari at the Unipol Domus.
It is unlikely that he will be thrown straight into the deep end by Massimiliano Allegri, who has taken a more conservative approach to injuries this season. Nevertheless, he could feature in some aspect.
However, the news is not as positive for Matteo Gabbia, who is also on the mend. Whilst he did train at Milanello, it was a continuation of his personal programme, so it seems unlikely that he will feature at this rate.
