Yesterday was the first day back for AC Milan, at least officially. In front of the fans, the team could be seen training. However, there were some absences.
Theo Hernandez, Ismael Bennacer and Yacine Adli were expected to be away, with all reportedly given an extended holiday last week, due to the situations facing them. Barring that, though, it should have been a full house at Milanello.
Despite this, there were still a few not seen in the footage of the first training session back at camp: Mike Maignan and Emerson Royal, of note.
Behind closed doors
There is nothing to fear about in terms of their situations. Both were present, as expected of them, for the first training session back, and they did report for work. However, neither took part in the group work with their teammates.
Always good to see smiles at Milanello

As MilanNews report, the Frenchman was in the gym doing his own work, whilst Emerson Royal did a session solely for himself. Of course, neither is great to hear, with Maignan needed this season, whilst Emerson is due to move away.
More information is expected in the next few days, after all, it could just be precautionary work whilst tests are studied. Hopefully there is nothing major to derail pre-season before it has really gotten out of first gear.
