MN: Milan a ‘different team’ with Rabiot – the numbers that prove it

1 day ago 43

Adrien Rabiot continues to demonstrate his importance to AC Milan, and the numbers show that they are a different team with him.

As MilanNews recall, Massimiliano Allegri revealed his belief that the goals would soon start coming for Rabiot in his pre-match press conference before the Torino game. The next day, the Frenchman complied with his coach’s request, scoring with a beautiful strike from 29 metres to spark a comeback.

The astonishing numbers

Allegri strongly pushed for Rabiot during the summer transfer window, it took very little for him to become a key player for Milan. It’s no coincidence that since his arrival, the Rossoneri have seen a completely different team than the one that lost in their Serie A debut against Cremonese.

The numbers speak for themselves: with the Frenchman, the Rossoneri have won seven of their nine matches, drawing once and lost once (in the Coppa Italia against Lazio). They have scored 14 goals, conceded only four, and kept six clean sheets.

Without him on the field, things transform: seven games played across the league and the Coppa Italia with a record of three wins, three draws, and one defeat, 11 goals scored and eight conceded, and only two clean sheets.

Milan are a completely different team. Allegri knows this very well: it’s no coincidence that, when he’s had him available in this first part of the season, he’s always started him and never brought him off.

Beyond his physicality and quality, the Frenchman is also giving the Rossoneri a lot in terms of leadership and experience. It’s not uncommon to see him during matches cheering and trying to inspire all his team-mates like a true leader. If Milan are first in the league, they have him to thank.
