Last Christmas, AC Milan were considering a few ideas, but the flurry of signings arrived at the end of January. Now, the first may be completed whilst the tree is still up.
Milan’s need for a striker has been present since the first few weeks of the season. Injuries to Rafael Leao and Christian Pulisic have affected plans massively, whilst Santiago Gimenez and Christopher Nkunku have not flattered themselves.
With Massimiliano Allegri also pleading for a physical striker, there is a need for someone to arrive in the winter.
Full steam ahead
Reports in recent weeks have been suggesting that someone could arrive, and Joshua Zirkzee has reportedly been the dream idea. However, it seems that a different route will be taken.
Niclas Fullkrug has been the big name of interest lurking in the background, and now the Rossoneri are accelerating a deal. In fact, MilanNews reports that the German could even have a new club before the mercato opens.
Igli Tare and the management are pressing to get the deal completed before the end of 2025, allowing him to arrive at Milanello as soon as possible. The deal should be a loan with an option to buy, and with the window opening officially on January 2nd, Allegri could even have his new man for the Cagliari game on January 3.
