MN: Milan given Nkunku boost and Loftus-Cheek blow ahead of Pisa game – the latest

1 week ago 44

Some good news has arrived in view of AC Milan’s next league game against Pisa on Friday regarding Christopher Nkunku.

Milan welcome Pisa to San Siro in just over 48 hours and while it might not be a blockbuster on paper, it is potentially a very important night for Massimiliano Allegri’s side. Why? They can temporarily go four points clear at the top, putting the pressure on ahead of other games like Napoli-Inter.

The problem is that Milan are battling an injury crisis at present. They only had seven players on the bench for the win over Fiorentina on Sunday, with Nkunku, Ruben Loftus-Cheek, Christian Pulisic, Adrien Rabiot, Pervis Estupinan and Ardon Jashari all sidelined.

Nkunku boost

MilanNews reports good news from Wednesday’s session: Nkunku has returned to training with the rest of the Rossoneri squad and is therefore fit to play a part in Friday night’s match against Pisa at San Siro.

The French forward missed the most recent league match against Fiorentina due to a foot injury sustained while playing for the national team. More specifically, it was believed to be a toe problem.

Loftus-Cheek, however, did not train with the rest of his team-mates, continuing his personal training program today. The English midfielder is struggling with a muscle strain and his recovery for Friday’s match against Pisa appears very complicated.
