MN: Milan role on hold as Galliani must finalise Monza sale first – the latest

Adriano Galliani has been heavily linked with a return to AC Milan, taking on a consultant role of sorts, but the Rossoneri will have to wait a little for his arrival.

Having spent decades as the CEO of the club, during the most successful periods as well, Galliani certainly knows what it takes for Milan to be successful. Furthermore, he’s a man of many contacts in Italy, with a political weight that cannot be underestimated.

As such, with Monza close to being sold to an American consortium, it’s not strange that Galliani has been linked with a return to Milan in recent months. Indeed, the Rossoneri are lacking a man like him in the management.

New role on hold

According to MilanNews, while Galliani is closer than ever to a return, Milan cannot make it happen right now. First things first, the sale of Monza to Beckett Layn Ventures must be completed, as the Brianteo side don’t want to rush into things.

That being said, the sale is nearing full completion so it shouldn’t be too long before the green light can be given. As for the role at Milan, he wouldn’t work directly for the club but rather as a consultant for RedBird, like Zlatan Ibrahimovic does.

There has already been a meeting with CEO Giorgio Furlani and the parties are on the same side. In short, once Galliani gets the go-ahead from Monza, there shouldn’t be any issues.
