AC Milan head coach Massimiliano Allegri has some dilemmas to resolve ahead of the game against Lazio on Saturday night.
Milan go into the game against the Biancocelesti with some confidence, having won the derby against Inter a few days ago. The match-winner on the scoresheet was Christian Pulisic, but it was Mike Maignan who stole the headlines with an MVP-worthy performance.
AC Milan’s predicted XI vs. Lazio
There is pressure on to follow that up with another win, and in his pre-match press conference Allegri revealed that he is likely to be without Christian Pulisic. He stated: “Pulisic is unlikely to be available, but anything can happen tomorrow and the same thing the day after.”
So, with that unfortunate bit of news, MilanNews believe that Christopher Nkunku will come into the team, partnering Rafael Leao in the front two. There would be no forwards on the bench, with Ruben Loftus-Cheek the most likely option if changes are needed up top.
The midfield trio should be Youssouf Fofana, Luka Modric and Adrien Rabiot again, with Alexis Saelemaekers recovering from a slight back issue to start at right wing-back, and Davide Bartesaghi keeping his spot on the left.
Fikayo Tomori, Matteo Gabbia and Strahinja Pavlovic remain as the three-man defence in front of the captain Mike Maignan, so there is currently likely to be just one change it seems.
Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; Tomori, Gabbia, Pavlovic; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Leao, Nkunku.
Subs: Pittarella, Terracciano; De Winter, Odogu, Estupinan; Ricci, Jashari, Loftus-Cheek.
Injured: Gimenez, Pulisic.
Battles: Nkunku/Loftus-Cheek, Bartesaghi/Estupinan.
