MN: Milan squad returning early from Saudi Arabia – the training plan over Christmas

The AC Milan squad are returning from Riyadh earlier than they hoped, and they will be back in training in the coming days.

As MilanNews report, Milan are returning from Saudi Arabia, where they were defeated 2-0 by Napoli in the Supercoppa Italiana semi-final last night. They flew this morning and the Rossoneri will now have the weekend off, so they will resume training at Milanello on Monday December 22nd.

There will certainly be a break on Christmas Day, but preparations can’t be interrupted for too long because Massimiliano Allegri’s team will be playing in Serie A at San Siro against Hellas Verona on December 28th.

During the next few days, Allegri will hope to get a couple of injured players back. Rafael Leao is one of them, who travelled with the team to the Middle East but wasn’t even named on the bench. Matteo Gabbia is the other, and he stayed at Milanello for the trip to help his hyper-extended knee recover.

There is a lot for the coach to work on, given that his side conceded two goals for the third game in a row. Some individuals were worrying too, with Mike Maignan and Koni De Winter struggling on both of Napoli’s goals, as reflected in our player ratings.
