It seems likely that AC Milan will sign a new striker in the next mercato or two, and there is one name standing out currently.
Santiago Gimenez has had a difficult year since moving to Milan, and no one would have expected it to go this way. It is not through a lack of effort, as Kyle Walker even stated recently, but rather potentially trying too hard.
Either way, the Rossoneri need a goalscoring striker, and if Gimenez cannot fill that role, the mercato will have to be used.
Why Panichelli?
Right now, Joaquin Panichelli is the most liked name. With nine goals in 11 Ligue 1 games, he is flying for Strasbourg, and the Diavolo’s interest has been piqued, potentially ahead of a January attempt. However, as MilanNews write, he has only just moved to France, so a move this quickly may be difficult.
Before that, he spent time with Racing, Belgrano and Atalaya before moving to River Plate in 2020. Following that, he moved to Alaves, but a cruciate ligament injury ruled him out of their season. Despite this, incredible performances for Mirandes convinced Strasbourg and then he moved.

‘El Cordobes’ is strong in the air, whilst also being able to lead by himself, the typical Allegri stiker, if you will. Adding another string to the Milan attack, he is almost the positive opposite of Gimenez, a striker who scores, whose profile would be perfect for Massimiliano Allegri.
There are so many positives to the idea that the risks are hard to find.
