It was presumed that AC Milan would play their first friendly of preseason on Saturday, but there has been a change in plan.
Milan’s preparations for next season continue, after the team began preseason formally at Milanello on Monday under the watchful gaze of the new head coach Massimiliano Allegri.
In just under two weeks the team will leave for the far East, where they will face Arsenal, Liverpool and Perth Glory in three friendlies. A warm-up game at the training ground is customary most years and one was expected to happen on Saturday, but MilanNews report that there will not be one.
Family day planned
As has been the case since Monday, the squad will take to the field at Milanello for a double training session tomorrow, after they did so today too. Saturday has been reduced to just one session in the morning.
The day after tomorrow will not be a traditional work day, though: instead, a ‘family outing’ is planned instead of the usual friendly match. Sunday, then, will be a day of rest.
As we highlighted in our analysis of Allegri’s first press conference, he was keen to stress the theme of unity and togetherness within the group. Initiatives like this certainly help create a collective.
