AC Milan will soon make their second signing of the summer official as Luka Modric’s medical has been scheduled.

MilanNews report that everything is ready for Modric’s arrival at AC Milan. The Croatian, who played his final match for Real Madrid in the Club World Cup semi-final a few days ago, will be in Italy on Monday morning.

The 2018 Ballon d’Or winner will then undergo the usual medical checks, sporting fitness tests and then sign his contract at Casa Milan. After the medical and the official announcement, Modric will go on a well-earned vacation after a season with 63 games played (2,984 minutes), four goals and nine assists.

The head coach Massimiliano Allegri recently stated in his unveiling press conference that he expects Modric at Milanello at the start of next month: “We’re waiting for him to arrive, he’ll arrive in August. He’s an important and extraordinary player.”

Modric will sign a one-year contract until June 2026 and Milan will welcome a player that won 28 major trophies at Madrid, including six UEFA Champions League titles, four La Liga titles, and two Copa del Rey titles.

That trophy haul makes him the most decorated player in Real’s history, no small feat considering the champions they have had, and it shows the winning experience that he will bring.
