MN: Musah ‘one step away’ from Atalanta move – the deal’s formula and Milan’s plan

AC Milan will allow Yunus Musah to leave on one condition, it seems, and it is reliant on the mercato. However, it could be quick.

Despite starting for Milan against Lecce, Milan are not looking to keep Musah in an ideal world. Instead, the offer from Atalanta would immediately be invested into another option, perhaps even using that money before the American departs.

The situation

Last night, the Atalanta CEO stated that talks would continue after their Serie A fixture, and late on Saturday night, MilanNews reported that the midfielder was ‘closing in’ on a move to Bergamo. The deal was ‘finalised’ last night, with a €25 million move ready to be signed.

However, it seems the deal is reliant on a move for another midfielder going through. Of course, the preference is Adrien Rabiot, who has been heavily linked this summer, but more so in the past 48 hours.

Talks resumed with the Frenchman yesterday, and there is a hope that the Rossoneri can land Massimiliano Allegri’s ideal candidate.

In the early hours of the morning, MilanNews provided another update, this time on the workings of the deal. Rather than a permanent deal this summer, the Diavolo midfielder would leave on loan, but with an obligation to buy for €25m, which was also the case with Charles De Ketelaere.
