The AC Milan squad are ready to get back to training at Milanello, and some news has emerged about two injured players.
As Pietro Mazzara reports for MilanNews, Massimiliano Allegri granted the team a few days of rest following the long trip to Saudi Arabia for the Supercoppa Italiana. They will resume work at Milanello today in preparation for the match against Verona on December 28.
Rafael Leao was seen on the Milanello pitch yesterday, and he showed positive signs ahead of Sunday’s match. The Portuguese is definitely feeling better, and the goal is to make him available to Allegri for the game against the Gialloblu.
Matteo Gabbia on the other hand is unlikely to recover after he hyper-extended his knee in the 2-2 draw against Sassuolo. For him, the focus is now on the trip to Cagliari on January 2nd which will of course be the first game of the new year.
Milan are approaching a set of games where they will face the 18th, 15th, 16th, and 20th-placed teams in the league, which is four of the bottom six. After Verona they face Cagliari, then Genoa, then Fiorentina, though this season it is the lower sides that have caused them most issues.
