MN: Predicted Milan XI for Como clash – Allegri relies on the starters

2 hours ago 24

AC Milan will make the short trip to face Como tomorrow night, and Massimiliano Allegri is expected to make several changes to his starting XI.

After the draws against Fiorentina and Genoa, Milan have the chance to make a statement against Como on Thursday. Ultimately, if they could beat another of their top six rivals, it would show they are still a force to be reckoned with in the Champions League battle, if not more.

Back to full strength

MilanNews reports that Mike Maignan, Matteo Gabbia and Koni De Winter will all keep their places in the back three, whilst Fikayo Tomori will return to the starting XI, due to Strahinja Pavlovic’s injury. Though it is worth noting that the Belgian is expected to shift across to the left.

In midfield, it will be a complete overhaul centrally, with Luka Modric, Youssouf Fofana and Adrien Rabiot returning after being rested for the weekend’s game. Alexis Saelemaekers keeps his place on the right, and it is not a shock that Davide Bartesaghi should return on the left.

Leading the line, Niclas Fullkrug’s knock means he may have to settle for a place on the bench – if he is in the team at all – so Rafael Leao will return to partner Christian Pulisic.

Predicted Milan XI (3-5-2): Maignan; De Winter, Gabbia, Tomori; Saelemaekers, Fofana, Modric, Rabiot, Bartesaghi; Pulisic, Leao.
